Commercial EICR in Manchester
A commercial EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a periodic inspection and test of the fixed wiring in business premises. It shows whether the installation is safe to keep using. Most offices and shops need one every 5 years; industrial units every 3. KHL charges £25 per circuit tested, with a £200 minimum, and offers out-of-hours testing.
If you run, own or manage a commercial property, you're responsible for keeping its electrics safe. A commercial EICR, also called fixed wire testing, is how you prove it to your insurer, your fire risk assessor and, if it ever comes to it, the HSE. Why Commercial EICRs Are a Legal Requirement
All UK businesses are required to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, which place a legal duty on those responsible for premises to ensure electrical systems are maintained in a safe condition.

Failure to carry out regular electrical inspections can result in legal action, invalid insurance, fines, or serious safety incidents. An up-to-date EICR provides documented proof that you have taken reasonable steps to meet electrical safety standards.
Do businesses legally need a commercial EICR?
There's no single law that says "get an EICR", but in practice every business needs one. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require anyone in control of a workplace to keep electrical systems maintained so they don't cause danger. A current EICR is the accepted evidence that you've done that.

The price includes the inspection and testing, the full EICR, a digital copy of the report, and a written fixed quote for any remedial work. It doesn't include the remedial work itself.

Remedial work after an unsatisfactory EICR
If your EICR comes back Unsatisfactory, we'll quote a fixed price for the remedial work and can usually start within days. Common fixes include replacing damaged accessories, adding RCD protection, correcting bonding, and replacing overloaded or outdated boards with a new consumer unit or distribution board. Where the wiring itself has reached the end of its life, we handle commercial rewiring in Manchester in phases so the business keeps running.
Once the work is done, we issue the certificates that show each defect has been put right, so your records and your insurer are covered.

How long does it take? A small shop or office is usually tested in half a day. A larger office or warehouse can take one to several days, depending on the number of circuits and boards.
